Applied Physics

Applied Physics is a year-long, second-level physics elective. In fact, a year of either physics or AP physics, with a grade of B-plus or higher, is a prerequisite. This course will build upon your foundational understanding of motion, forces, and energy, and integrate it into solving advanced problems and equations. Additionally, students will explore new topics, such as wave behavior, acoustics, optics, nuclear decay, fluids, and electricity, which typically were not covered in their first-year physics course. The hope is to allow students to continue their passion for physics, sharpen their analytical and responding skills, emphasize creative projects and artistic abilities, and still see how these topics permeate their lives.
