Forensics

This course is designed to challenge students with topics such as crime scene processing, fingerprinting, DNA analysis, blood spattering, ballistic trajectories, death investigations and autopsies, entomology and anthropology, chemical analysis of drugs, poisons, and trace evidence, and criminal profiling. Students will learn about the careers involved with Forensic Science and will play mock roles as experts in the field to solve crimes.  They will learn teamwork in solving the mock crimes and have a chance to evaluate their roles as the year progresses.  The students will all be given the tools to interpret data and techniques involved for both chemical and biological analysis of evidence through laboratory practicums. Each unit of study culminates in a summative project which enables students to expand their critical thinking skills.
