Fine Arts

The Fine Art Department at Beacon has a long standing history as a leading arts program within the New York City Public School system. Over the years we have partnered with numerous museums and organizations in and around New York. We have always been especially proud of the connections between our school and the city we live in. Beacon Fine Art serves as an inventive space for curious minds, innovative thinkers and problem solvers. A rigorous experience into the creative process; students are encouraged to explore various materials and methods while building skills and developing an artistic voice. Students work endlessly to develop their studio practice as well as creating informed, diverse and meaningful work. A commitment to better understand the world around us through the lens of visual art and to inspire creative thinking far beyond our school walls, our students go on to attend and have graduated from leading art schools. In addition, many of our art graduates have become successful working artists and have received numerous awards for their outstanding talent and commitment to the arts.
