As we get ready for the new school year to begin on Monday, September 13th, we're hearing that a few parents are having problems with the DOE's MySchools/MyStudent/NYCSA parent portal.
For Monday, Sept.13, as long as your student submits a health screening form in the morning for entry, they're good to go for the first day of school!
To be clear: Your student's vaccine status is NOT required for entry, though Beacon's COVID Testing threshold is based on uploaded vaccine status numbers, not the consent form percentage, so if possible to upload then please do.
The school is in touch with the DOE about addressing technical errors for parents who are having difficulties with accessing the NYC Schools Account, aka the MySchools/MyStudent/NYCSA portal.
Please note the staggered entry times and scheduling for Monday, September 13 only:
8:00 AM: 11th and 12th grade students arrive and will go to Advisory, where they will get their schedules.
9:30 AM: 9th and 10th grade students arrive. They will be greeted by staff and Big Sibs and escorted to their Advisory classes, where they will engage in welcoming activities and get their schedules.
10:45 AM: Classes begin for all students, following the Beacon Band Schedule starting with D Band. Students will follow their schedule through to dismissal at 2:20pm.
