QUARTER GRADES
Quarter grades are not automatically sent to colleges. If you need/want your quarter grades sent to your colleges – you must let the college office know in one of two ways:
1. If you applied early action/early decision and already submitted your transcript request form – you MUST come to the college office and request that we fax your quarter grades to your school. Please come only during the times that are scheduled for dropping off application procedures.
2. If your quarter grades are strong and you want your schools to see them, and have NOT yet submitted transcript request forms, please write “send quarter grades” in the ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS section at the bottom of each transcript request form.
NOTE: YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT THE COLLEGE OFFICE IS AWARE OF ANY CHANGES BEING MADE TO QUARTER GRADES.
SENIOR COLLEGE MEETINGS
If you have not had a senior meeting and would like to – and you did not get a appointment slip in advisory today – Please come to the college office to fill out a schedule request form or reschedule a missed meeting.
DECEMBER FIRST DEADLINE (Beacon Deadline - not college deadline)
If students have ANY APPLICATION DEADLINES ON OR BEFORE JANUARY 15th. Transcript request forms must be submitted to the College Office no later than DECEMBER 1st! This does not mean you have to wait until Dec. 1st to bring in those requests. The College Office cannot guarantee that we can mail out transcripts in a timely fashion of the Dec. 1 deadline is not met. Please make sure that you have closely followed the Beacon Application Procedures. Extra copies can be picked up in the College Office

If you have not already done so - you should register as soon as possible for the SAT Test this Spring. There are two test dates left for you to register for: May 6 (registration deadline: April 3, 2006; late registration: April 12, 2006); June 3 (registration deadline: April 28, 2006; late registration: May 10, 2006).
The most efficient way to register is online at www.collegeboard.com. You will need to create a user name and password. Keep this information somewhere safe as you will need it throughout the college process. To register online, you will need either access to a credit card or a 12 digit fee waiver code. If you are eligible for a fee waiver (if you receive free or reduced lunch at school) come to the college office for a fee waiver). IF YOU ARE USING A FEE WAIVER, YOU MUST REGISTER BY THE REGULAR DEADLINE, fee waivers cannot be used for late registration.
When you register and are asked what high school you attend - you should put in the BEACON SCHOOL CODE - this is 333438 - this will allow the testing service to send Beacon a copy of the score report. This is very important.
PLEASE BE AWARE - BEACON IS NOT A TESTING CENTER - YOU CANNOT TAKE THE EXAM HERE. IF YOU SEARCH FOR BEACON - YOU WILL FIND BEACON HIGH SCHOOL IN BEACON NEW YORK. DON'T DO THIS OR YOU WILL BE TAKING YOUR EXAM AN HOUR AND A HALF FROM HOME!
If you don't feel comfortable registering online for whatever reason - please come pick up a mail registration packet in the college office.
