SUNY College at Oneonta will be holding On-Site Admissions for AALANA students on Monday, January 23 – Friday, January 27, 2006 at the SUNY Metropolitan Recruitment Center at 420 Lexington Avenue. AALANA is a program that is committed to provide students of color with the social, spiritual, and academic support necessary to thrive in a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. AALANA applicants must be from African American, Latino, Asian, or Native American descent, and have a GPA minimum of 80 and a minimum combined SAT score of 950. This program is for AALANA students who have applied to SUNY Oneonta, but those who have not applied yet are urged to set up an appointment anyway. EOP students are invited to schedule an appointment but will NOT receive a decision at the On-Site Admissions Program. During the On-Site Admissions Appointment, members of the Oneonta admissions team will review students’ academic credentials and supplemental information. During the interview, students who meet the admissions criteria will receive a formal written agreement confirming their acceptance (pending a formal application to the College at Oneonta). Students who have already applied to SUNY College at Oneonta will have the ability to gather additional information about the campus and programs. Upon acceptance through On-Site Admissions, all AALANA students and EOP students (based on space available) will be invited to attend a bus trip to and accepted student open-house at Oneonta on April 1, 2006. Students will spend the night with a current Oneonta student and transportation, meals, and lodging on this trip will be free for participants.
**Students who call and schedule an appointment MUST bring their transcripts, test scores, and/or other supporting information for review during their scheduled appointments.
To schedule an appointment with an Oneonta admissions counselor, call 1-800-SUNY-123 and ask for the On-Site Admissions Program schedule.
