what makes a movie good?

There are many things about a film that make it good. Of course a film that gets talked about for days, weeks, or even years is good. But why was it talked about is the question? It was either controversial, which is always good because it can be part of conversations and debates throughout all over the world. Or perhaps it had great acting, where the actor completely makes you relate to the character and sympathize, empathize, or perhaps hate the character. However, these couple of things are just the context of the film. The way that the movie was made, so the director and cinematographer are essential are essential in making a movie either good or bad. However, how good they really can be, of course depends on the budget. So, a skilled actor; good, effective plot; experienced and clever cinematographer; experienced director; and a decent budget all add to making a film a good one. Of course what’s good or not depends on each individual move viewer since everyone has different tastes in genres , actors, directors, and themes. But a REALLY good film, the majority of all viewers will all like.

julia on the media

There is so much to say about the media. Without it, the world would be completely different. It is even hard to imagine how it would exist, because it practically is everything, and everyone is consumed by it. Whether you would like to belive that or not. The gives millions of people money, makes businesses and stocks grow. If you think about, it gives people the most entertainment and something to talk about and even controls the way many dress. Because the media has so much power, it really can and pretty much already has taken over. The media changes how people think because it changes people's values, beliefs, opinons, and interestests. Because the media has the power to make these changes, it sometimes takes advantage of this and uses it to its advantage. The media can also be used by individuals for their benefit, or to blow things out of proportion to perhaps, to someone's/something's reputation.

The recent superbowl halftime show drama, is a perfect example of what the media can do, how it is used, and what affect it makes on people. Personally, i saw the show, and it didnt even cross my mind that it would be blown up to the extent that it was, or even would be talked about. Talk about Janet's and Justin's performance is on tv more than news about iraq. And has been in my conversations with almost everybody. Even people, such as my father, who never even knew who Justin Timberlake was. This is because there has been so much discussion in the media about this. This situation can either help or really ruin both janet's and justin's reputation and record sales. This will be all in the hands of how the media portrays the situation. Personally, i believe that this was all planned so that janet would get publicity, esspecially since her new cd is comming out sometime this week. Obviously this worked. I predict that more people will buy the cd now than they would have before. So everthing will work out how she planned most likely, and hopefully so, because she must have spent ridiculous amounts of money. It's amazing how she can use the media to her advantage.

This superbowl drama will continue being one of the main conversations among people all over america, and perhaps even all over the world. THis is to show how much power the media has over everyone. It controls what you think and talk about but also is very convenient because if one has a problem starting or keeping conversations, the media always gives something to talk about; Something that everyone will most likely be familiar with. It really is practically impossible for someone to not be affected by the media. It brainwahses you through commercials, magazines, tv shows, movies, the newspapers, the radio, and os much more. Conversations then, result from all of these. And somehow will affect people in general, whether spiritually, or materialistically. No one will ever be able to beat the media's impact. It holds all the power. Even more than the president! Because if you think about it, can ruin the president and give him a negative image if it really wanted to.
