Imagine the United States without immigration...

Immigration is an extremely important factor in the United States. If we were to take away all the immigrants that are presently in the country, this country would basically become deserted. This country is admired for its diversity and this comes from the immigration factor. Having this diversity in our educational and work settings, along with in our social groups helps us build our tolerance for different ethnicities, races, and cultures.

What is American culture? Much of it has changed over the years and this is because it incorporates the many different cultures that trickle into the country. Looking at history, the natives from the country had not always treated those who are different from them with much respect. For example, they had enslaved many such as the blacks and the Chinese. However, with this in mind, much of the African and Chinese culture has influenced the American culture. When Africans were brought to the United States because of the practice of slavery, they brought much more then just their bodies and decreasing spirits. They brought their music, food, religion, and language. Their music has influenced our nation greatly with hip hop, jazz, gospel, etc. Without the influence of Asian technology, the United States would not be as powerful in the world today. Looking around today, we see so many successful people who are of different backgrounds such as Michelle Kwan, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, etc. This country often feeds off of other countries in order to grow. Without immigration, the growth
would be non existent along with how much variety we have in our country today.
