137th Street, City College. Originally City College was located down on 23rd Street, however towards the turn of the 20th century it was relocated to 137th street. Above is a picture of the subway station in 1904 while construction was just finishing up. 137th Street station is one of the many stations that contain artistic work on the walls. There is a seal of City College located at 137th that represents "Past, Present, Future" in Latin terms.
