The 125th Street station is known as the "best hunk of outdoor archetecture". The bridge is 2174 feet long. Its most important feature is the 2 hinged arch of a 168.5 foot span which you can see in the picture below during its construction in 1903. This station opened in 1904 being a part of New York City's first subway, the 1/9.
