BDAT (Beacon Drama, Art, Theater) Faculty Contact: Jo Ann Cimato
B'DAT is the after school drama program that offers students hands on experience with theatre performance, technical theatre, musical theatre, comedy and improvisation. B'DAT produces a straight play every fall and musical every spring, a student written play festival, freshman project and musical theatre concert each season. Many B'DAT students are honored members of the International Thespian Society Troupe #6968. B'DAT is open to all students in good academic standing regardless of previous experiences. Beacon Ink Faculty Contact: Sarah Fink
Beacon Ink is a student-run magazine that publishes all types of student artwork and creative writing. Our student editors recruit writers and artists, evaluate submissions, raise funds and layout the magazine themselves. Our goal is to celebrate student work that would not otherwise be widely noticed, and to give our editors the opportunity to create a truly professional publication. sfink@beaconschool.org

Held in the 3rd floor lab, students can use various digital editing packages such as imovie and Final Cut Pro to work on their own films, whether part of a Digital Film class or not. GSA (Gay Straight Alliance)Faculty Contact: Jen Rosenthal
Members of Beacon's Gay-Straight Alliance are dedicated to improving our school climate for all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression, and bringing together the queer and straight communities within our school. We have great discussions, collaborate on projects that further LGBTQ activism, make art, read, write, watch movies,have lots of fun, and eat snacks. Project A.B.L.E. (Aid to Benefit Literacy and Education) Faculty Contact: Ann Hanin

Project A.B.L.E.'s mission is to draw attention to the issues of literacy and education in the developing world and, through its fund raising efforts, support schools and libraries in east Africa and India. This club.s mission is to raise both money for and awareness about cancer. SMAC chooses a specific organization to donate to and holds an end-of-the-year outdoor event to try to unite the Beacon community and come together for a day of fun and fundraising.
